1. Your price doesn’t change by itself

We never raise the price of your subscription automatically, at renewal or at any other time. The prices on your subscription (the base price and the price of each usage meter) stay the prices you signed up at until we change them following this policy.

2. 60 days’ notice before any increase

If we raise a price you pay, we tell you at least 60 days before the new price applies to you: by email to the organization’s owners and in the Billing page of your account. The notice says what changes, by how much, from which date, and what you can do (see section 5).

[LEGAL: whether notice by email to owners plus an in-app notice is sufficient “written notice” under the Terms of Service and applicable consumer and B2B law in the EU; whether a longer period applies anywhere we sell.]

3. Yearly plans keep their price for the whole term

If you pay yearly, your prices (the yearly base and the usage rates of your yearly plan) don’t change during the term you’ve paid for. A price increase can only apply from your next renewal, and only if we’ve given the 60 days’ notice before that renewal date. If the notice comes later, the increase waits until the renewal after that.

4. What counts as a price increase

  • a higher base price;
  • a higher price per block of a usage meter, or a smaller block;
  • fewer units included in the base price;
  • a new usage meter (a new thing we charge for) added to an existing subscription;
  • a lower free quota or plan limit that would make you pay to keep using what you use today.

Usage you choose (more monitors, more subscribers, more emails) is billed at your current prices and isn’t a price change. Taxes (such as VAT) follow the law and aren’t covered by this policy. [LEGAL: wording for taxes and for changes required by law or by a payment provider.]

Price decreases and new optional features may apply right away, without notice.

5. Your options when we announce an increase

  • Monthly plans: cancel at any time before the new price applies and you won’t be charged at the new price. [LEGAL: refund rules for the partial month, if any.]
  • Yearly plans: your current term isn’t affected. You can cancel renewal at any time before the renewal date, or switch to monthly billing at renewal.
  • Data: you can export your data before you leave. [LEGAL/PRODUCT: link to the export documentation once it exists.]

6. New customers

Prices shown on the pricing page apply to new subscriptions from the moment they’re published. A change to the public price list doesn’t change existing subscriptions (section 1).

7. Changes to this policy

We won’t change this policy in a way that weakens it for existing subscriptions without the same 60 days’ notice. [LEGAL: confirm, and how this interacts with the general “changes to the Terms” clause.]

8. Contact

Questions about pricing or this policy: [LEGAL/OWNER: support address, e.g. hello@upstreamr.com (pending)].
